Meet The Neighbours - Stuart Fearn MBE
Part of the week, Stuart Fearn is director of a charitable organisation, Society Matters Cic, that primarily focuses on helping those in poverty, living a challenging life due to the cost of living.
For the remainder of the week he is a specialist in community banking, to keep banking available on the high-street across the UK and Ireland.
In his spare time he loves art so is currently working with others to bring great mural art to the area. These include two recent works by Pete Manning of Prefab77 ’The Siren’ on Church Way and ’Angels Live in Our Town’ at King Street CIU, (working with Geoff Kirkwood AKA Man Power ).
These murals are kicking off the 2025 Elevation Festival for the 800th anniversary of North Shields.
Stuart says: “I moved to the North East with Kirsty my wife from York in 2008, and to North Shields with our new addition Ava, early in 2014.
“I love everything about this great place, the beautiful coastline, the amazing creative talent we have here on our doorstep, in music, all forms of art and then those that give us the greatest independent places to visit, eat and drink.
“I spend my time connecting lots of these great people together to create the greatest outcomes for the town.”
