Bursaries

 
 

Our bursary programme is now open to applications. To request an application form please send an email. When we have received your application we will arrange a time to meet you to discuss your proposal. The deadline for applications is Saturday 30th November and you will be informed if you have been successful in mid January.

Grants of up to £1,000 are available. These grants can support artists, creative practitioners or creative and cultural businesses based in North Tyneside to further their professional experience, learn new skills, develop fresh thinking and new creative practice and / or business ideas? 

Developing your creative practice might include (but is not limited to):

  • Training and skills development

  • Networking to develop opportunities for new creative collaborations

  • Research and development to explore new creative practice

  • Exploring opportunities to commercialise your work or expand into new market

  • Exploring opportunities to work creatively in a different environment (e.g. education or community engagement). 

If there are financial barriers to accessing these opportunities we can potentially provide up to £1,000 which could cover a range of costs including (but not limited to):

  • Travel

  • Conference fees

  • Course fees

  • Childcare or dependent care

  • Materials

  • Specialist equipment

  • Additional support for a disability / impairment

You can apply for whatever you feel is appropriate for your needs.  That might be a one-off activity, or a series of opportunities over a number of months which will provide you with a package of support which will support you to achieve your ambitions for your creative practice / business.

We cannot support:

  • Activities, goods or services that have already taken place

  • Mentoring which we provide through our Helix Arts’ Artists’ Agency programme

  • Business Support which we provide through our Generator’s Creative Business Support programme

  • Training or qualifications which are already funded through an alternative programme or funding source

  • Individuals under the age of 18

  • FE or HE students
