Meet the Neighbours - Pete Robinson

Pete runs multi award-winning North Shields-based wedding photography business, Eye of the Tyne Photography. In 2000, he trained as an RAF photographer in the Defence School of Photography, with his work featuring on the front pages of national newspapers. After leaving the RAF he began photographing friends’ weddings and was so successful he went on to set up Eye Of The Tyne. He has shot more than 350 weddings all over the UK and as far afield as Iceland, New York and Rio De Janeiro. His photography style is cinematic and many of his wedding images look like stills from a movie. He also works as a documentary photographer, capturing the life of North Shields’ fishermen on camera.

Pete said: “North Shields feels like home, I’m proud to be from here. I love being around the town, for a coffee, a drink after work or to go out with my lovely wife for some food.

“We hardly ever go into Newcastle now because the coast has everything we need. "I’ve been in the North Tyneside Business Centre for seven years and it’s great to see more creative businesses moving in.

“It’s an inspiring place with inspiring people, and I’m passionate about my documentary work with the fishing community.”
