Meet The Neighbours - Karen Weech

Karen and her husband Mark run @baristaboho on Saville Street.

Having spent six years in New York City and 10 years in London building global brands for ad agencies and brand consultancies, Karen has been running her marketing and lead generation agency Most Sensational for 19 years.

She works with the likes of Sir David Michels, former chairman of Easyjet and Hilton, and companies in the creative space from events to online platforms.

Karen is also the commercial director of her husband’s electronics engineering business VREO Innovation which won Start-Up of the Year previously with North Tyneside Business Awards. VREO make cameras and have sold to global brands like NASA, FLIR and Bosch across 19 countries.

Karen, her husband Mark and family, including Chester the dog, have lived in North Shields for 12 years and are very passionate about the town.

Karen said: “It’s for this reason we set up Barista Boho in January 2022. A café bar offering an exciting community hub for the local people of North Shields. We pride ourselves on offering fresh-to-plate, locally-sourced ingredients and offer a great brunch menu, fabulous coffee, as well as cocktails and craft beers.

“Boho embraces and engages with musicians, artists, poets, mixologists, writers, and alternative health practitioners to offer an incredibly varied program of workshops and events.

“We’re very excited about the future of North Shields and all the great developments planned for the Cultural Quarter. We are incredibly excited to meet so many like-minded passionate people in our home town.”
